The Great Divide

Seen throughout much of the Chicago Cultural Center, formerly known as the Chicago Public Library, is the "Y" you see in the center here. It is said to represent the "splitting" of the Chicago River. This mosaic was captured in the arch above the foot of the staircase in the Main Hall. Photo taken July 13, 2008.
