An Imposter?Posted by Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 17 July 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. When I first spotted this flower from the sides, I had mistaken it for a daylily. Upon closer inspection from above, I noticed that each of the petals was attached to the stamen with its own petiole, or stalk, rather than the petal being attached directly forming the corolla.
