A "spotlight" on Lake Michigan from the early morning sunrise. Almost has an "alien spaceship look" to it. Photo taken just after 7:00 AM on August 23, 2008.

this is gorgeous! and yes -- quite surreal. a certain sci-fi feel to it! glorious!! how long did these conditions last?

Fine image. Love the sky with the spotlight on the water, but what has happened to the sky, just above the horizon??. It appears to have a lot of 'banding' in it.

@MaryP: Being the novice that I am, the only thing that I can think of is that it is a result of compressing the image to be able to post it.

Nice colours but why so many "pixels" in the sky ? Did you go for a small resolution ?
