Spot On

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 29 July 2009 in Architecture.

A "spot on" shot of the GAR Memorial Hall's dome inside the Chicago Cultural Center. If only the ceiling was a few extra feet higher so that I could have fit the entire dome. Photo taken July 24, 2009.

You need a wide-angle lens. :-) Nonetheless a fabulous shot!

HDR again? It strikes me that it lends itself to impression rather than detail. It's sort of a humanizing effect that brings mood. I'm enjoying seeing these.

take multiple shots, carefully spaced, with a LONGER lens, and stitch them. There is no limit, then, to the architectural accuracy you can achieve (or the neat effects through planned distortion.).
