Tiffany Chandelier in 3-D?

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 15 September 2009 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

It was a perfect day in Chicago and I had to stop by the Chicago Cultural Center to see if I could get captures of the Tiffany dome and its chandelier. To my surprise, Preston Bradley Hall, where the Tiffany dome is located, was not cordoned off for a private party/function. To get this shot and many others, I had to lay on the floor to capture it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the results of taking the photos in RAW format. Previous postings of this dome and chandelier last year just were not as impressive. This shot actually takes on a 3-D effect where the chandelier seems to "pop out" from the dome above.

Photo taken September 13, 2009.

Very colourful! It's not only the camera and increased skills; sometimes you just have to come back to get a better picture. Here the colours were definitely worth the effort!
