Ice Harvest

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 15 January 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Looking southeast on the other side of the breakwater as I was making my way out into the open Lake Michigan. This capture brought to mind the 2005 movie "Ice Harvest" that was filmed in Waukegan.

My trek on the breakwater to the open waters of Lake Michigan (still a few hundred feet further than this shot) seemed to take forever as I made my way east. There were moments of running to beat the sunrise, but the frigid air was not helpful on my lungs.

Very pretty winter photo indeed. I have pretty much given up on taking shots of winter, as I can no longer take the frigid (not the F word I originally thought of using) temps. I will be content to marvel at the beauty in your shots and others!
