Peter from Amsterdam, Netherlands

By day or night it's a remarkable statue fitting for the man he was. Not many Americans realize this, but he made a huge change in todays US of A. He's more than just the face on a 5-dollar bill.

Some sense of glorification and rapture here - were you alone at the time you took this photo? Was it different compared to the ambience at daylight?

1 Jul 2010 9:48am

@MadScientist: There were probably 10 other people in this chamber at the time with many people outside on the steps. The night time was much different in that there weren't many kids or noise inside. The lighting definitely sets the ambience. Wait until you see him tomorrow.....from afar.

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Again a marvelous usage of the lighting and shadows - and your masterful positioning and perspective that you provide .- it's almost as if you are REALLY in his office enjoying each other's company. Great tonality and contrast too. Awesome, Steven!

A great sculpture with great light. It really is huge and the blocks it took to construct were massive.
