I wasn't able to provide myself the best set-up for this shot inside Washington, DC's Metro Subway as I heard and read on photo websites that police were not accommodating in allowing photographers to take photos in the Metro subway. So this photo was taken "on the fly." Thankfully it didn't take more than a half of a second in shutter speed to get a decent exposure. This was taken on our way to visit the various Smithsonian institutions.

I apologize for being in absentia yesterday as I was at work until 10:00 PM last night.

I didn't know it was forbidden to take that kind of shots... there is nothing wrong with it imo. But ok, I guess it's for security matters. I like the special ceiling and the great contrasts in this B&W... well done Steven :)

Yes I can imagine not (re your write-up, above) but this is still agreat shot Steven...Barbara and I stayed at a Marriott just near an entrance but we never bothered to use it...now that we have been trained in NYC subway riding (and BART in SFO when visiting our son) we won't be so shy about riding this one around...great job sir! People with cameras in their can shoot anywhere but cameras are stopped.

Anyway, this really works. Not quite sharp but, considering the circumstances, very well done.

Yes there are those sensitivities to consider when shooting in public places like this. You did well.

A beautiful shot in spite of the paranoia in certain quarters. I agree with Florence. That ceiling gives this scene a sci-fi look.

I think you probably found the most advantageous spot to take it from, the expansive view here is terrific.
