A Victim of Foreclosure?

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 14 December 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A beautiful mansion in Highland Park, Illinois sits vacant with no one to enjoy the views of the autumnal colors from its wrap-around porch. Across the street from this mansion is the park that I captured here.

Photo captured October 24, 2010.

What a shame! It's a beautiful photo in any case.

These golden tones are gorgeous ! And what a beautiful mansion... a shame indeed that nobody's enjoying it ! Have a great day :)

All aglow in Chicagoland, wonderful colours. I guess you are out and about picturing the snow now?

@Curly: We actually haven't gotten much snow so far. And right now it's just "blah-looking" outside. I will be going out to get night shots of Christmas lights once we are free of the arctic freeze we are experiencing. :-)

Beaucoup de charme. Bien fait.

Beautiful autumn colors frame this charming home. It has been well cared for, a shame it has come to forecloser where it may end up sitting and deteriorate. Then often cheaper to level than to restore. Beautiful image.

unbelievable isn't it? And so unnecessary. One day people will see that they themselves are the leaders of this world - and that we need to pay attention to what is REALLY happening around us. This is a beautiful pic - I'm from the Chicago area - and these houses are just so amazing - great shot!

The park is beautiful - I don't know how I missed that one...is this the neighborhood where you were getting the weird looks?? You should have parked in the driveway and really freaked everyone out. Seriously, this is a sad statement of our times, not to speak of our greed! Great image though, Steven!

Beautiful house. I hope it's not been foreclosed on. Of course then I would be tempted to buy it if it was. The park is beautiful too.
