Crop Circle?

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 7 January 2011 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

After taking photographs of the birch trees at Petrifying Springs, I couldn't help but notice the blank "canvass" behind me as I saw this huge "blanket" of undisturbed snow.

I started doing a little experimenting with my boots and created these tracks in the snow. I wasn't sure how well I would be able to photograph this considering how flat the land was and there was no higher elevations nearby to capture this from above. But this "crop circle" was only the beginning of my creations.

I love the texture captured in the snow here.

Photo captured December 27, 2010.

You really did capture the snow well. Sometimes it is very difficult. I did a similar thing at the cemetery, I make hearts around my mother's grave and I looked back thinking perhaps I would take a shot but I didn't see enough contrast. Well done.. and now we have the answer to whose been doing these things all over!
