"There is Strong Shadow Where There is Much Light"

The morning sunlight casts a shadow of the Gateway Arch over the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Grounds, as seen from the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri.

That is a magnificent image of this strong shadow. I'm puzzled by the green area in the center of the image. Is that water with a luxuriant algae bloom or is it grass?

@Steve Rice: That's grass. The area underneath is like a quad on a college campus. The luxuriant algae bloom is off to the far right and in Monday's photo. :-)
