One of our stops while on the Riverboat Discovery included the touring of the Chena Indian Village, a replica village of the area of Fairbanks, Alaska. We came upon one particularly interesting station which presented information on the creation of a parka from pelts of the wolf, fox, and beaver (left) which provide protection in the harsh Arctic climate. The beadwork added to the beauty of the parka. One of the guides models an Athabascan Yukon-style women's winter parka with sunshine ruff (right).
