A Floating City?

This is the Star Princess cruise ship docked in Whittier, Alaska. This was the view we saw prior to boarding for our seven-day cruise. It makes one wonder how it manages to float.

Many of you commented how high up I must have been when taking the two previous photos. I was on the top deck of this ship.
