We enjoyed seeing the scenic Pitchfork Falls, which is 6 miles away from Skagway. The Falls cascade down the canyon walls in different segments. The total length of the Falls is nearly 2,100 feet and is among the world's tallest waterfalls. These waters flow from Goat Lake, under a White Pass Railroad train bridge (seen in the upper fourth of the photo), to the Skagway River below. There's a hydroelectric project from the lake that feeds the falls, down to the river below that provides power for both Skagway and Haines.
