Towering Falls

Posted by Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 11 October 2017 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Spectators stand near the bottom of Horseshoe Falls as the water comes crashing down in front of them. This was a particularly windy day and many of them got soaked by the blowing mist. We went down there on a later date when the wind took the mist in the opposite direction and kept us fairly dry. I even tried my luck at long exposure photography from there.

THIS one is outstanding, as great as the previous frames are. Superb framing to include the tiny human scale against the vast power source pouring relentlessly onward. For me, an easy five star shot and a Spotlight.

Wow, that image is so impressive. I was there YEARS ago when they diverted part of the water to do some repair to the lip of the falls - so it was like the falls was turned off. Not sure how they did it.
