Intersectional Peony

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 29 May 2019 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

This intersectional peony is a hybrid of the herbaceous peony and tree peony. The tree peony has woody above ground stems that remain throughout the year, much like a small shrub. The leaves, however, are deciduous and fall each autumn. Herbaceous peonies die back to the ground each autumn.

Photo captured May 18, 2019.

excellent macro with bright colors and fine focus on the curled yellow center and the tiny bee. perhaps a bit tighter crop could have eliminated the triangles of green in both lower corners.
