Trailing Blossoms

Posted by
Steven (Chicagoland, United States) on 2 July 2019 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I saw these blossoms hanging from a tree when visiting the Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanical Gardens in Palos Heights, Illinois.
Anyone know what these are called?
Many thanks to Grouser who helped identify this blossom from a bird cherry tree!

Oops! Now London Caller says they're black cherry blossoms. Given their smaller petals and long filaments, he may be right.

Photo captured May 25, 2019.
