We stopped by Mountain Park and Lookout Tower on Washington Island, not knowing what to expect. When we arrived, there was a sign at the base of the stairs that stated the tower was closed due to structural issues. But I ascended 186 steps. I figured that if I went that high, there are bound to be good views of the surrounding area even if I didn't go up the lookout tower. The ascent was quite an exercise. Thankfully, there were plenty of landings in between the flights of stairs.
This view was captured looking down from one of the landings about 75% of the way up. I definitely needed to rest for a few minutes to catch my breath. After getting all the way up the stairs, I was terribly disappointed that there were no views to be seen as the surrounding terrain was thick with tons of trees.
